AUGUST 2009

There are so many pictures here but that is because it was probably the funnest thing we did this summer. We went Friday, Saturday , Sunday and Monday to Bobby's parents property. We went with the Barlows. You might think that you saw the Strickland children in some our pictures and yes we took them too. They only stayed until sunday when their parents came and picked them up. We did a lot of fun things. Bobby killed a bird, we rode the jeeps, we swam in the river, we fished at Camp Barlett and went to Bloomington.

Boyd and Phyllis invited the Gibsons for a FHE evening at their cabin up Logan Canyon and they invited us. Jason asked Bobby to dress up as Nephi and that is why he wearing his bathrobe in this picture. The kids has a really good time. We had the yummiest homemade corndogs made by Sister Smart-we hope they invite us back just for those! I took the cherries from the Gray's tree and made homemade pie filling and cheesecake- it was also very yummy!

We love the Cache County Fair. The kids love the animals and the rides (we were very mean parents and didn't let them ride this year). I love the smells of the fair and I LOVE to people watch and this is truly one of the best places to do it! We went with Wendy and Craig and it was really fun to go with them. I will see if I can get pictures from FB that Wendy took.

We went fishing many times but this trip was to first dam. I liked fishing here because the water was so clear. I don't fish so looking down into the water is one of my past times. The water at Cutler Marsh and Newton Dam was disgusting so this was refreshing. We could see 1 foot fish down close to the bottom. It was awesome except for the fact that we couldn't catch one of them.

I am always surprised how fast school starts! It seems like the summer flys by and before you know it is over! My kids were excited to start school though, so that is good. Trevor is 10 and in 5th grade. His teacher is Mrs. Sheele. Abbey is 9 and has Mrs. Bagley. Kyra is 7 and has Mrs. Alder.

I can't believe I am finally doing it!

For two years or more, I have wanted to teach a certain scrapbook class. I am finally doing it! The other day I was in Hobby Lobby (getting supplies for all those cards I just made), and I saw a poster saying Hobby Lobby wanted teachers for classes. I was so excited to get more info. I called and I am officially going to teach. The class is a scrapbooking 101 class. This is a class for beginners. This is a class for someone who has never scrapbooked before and wants to learn. I will teach them all the basic stuff that is so important. I think people don't scrapbook because it is too overwhelming and they don't know where to start! That is what I am here for. I just hope people are interested. I am making the poster today (I will post a picture when I am done). The great thing is that if this class doesn't pan out I can teach a card making class or a class on the cricut! The other great thing is that Hobby Lobby doesn't charge me anything for this class, I keep all profits! FINALLY!!! YEAH! Wish me luck! P.S. I know I spelled scrapbook wrong but I went into the store and fixed it!

ALL DONE!

I did it! I didn't make 20 sets of cards, I made 26 sets. Each is with it's own box and pen. I started this morning on my last 12 sets. I started going through my cards and ended up finding enough stuff to make 26 sets. I am so tired of making cards I could die! I hope it all worth it in the end. P.S. Whatever I don't sell is up from grabs. Whatever is left is going on ebay!

Next set of cards

Here is my next set of cards. This set only has 3 instead of 5. I got this idea from my friend Janice and they were more time consuming to make so I only did 3 sets. I am working on more today with pictures to follow.

The first 5 sets of cards

I am making 20 sets of cards for a craft sale my mom is having on Sept. 12th. I have made 5 so far and here they are! Each set contains 5 cards, 5 envelopes and a coordinating pen. I think they are way cute and I have ideas for my next 5 sets that I will start today. More pictures will follow!

This Might be a One Time Thing

I did it! I canned 12 quarts of applesauce and 5 quarts of apple pie filling by myself. I never realized how much work it was going to be! I thought each project would take maybe half a day and I would be done. NOT SO! The applesauce took ALL day! I also didn't realize how messy the applesauce would be. Everything go was sooo sticky but I should have guessed that would happen when working with apples. I am very proud of the finished product but I don't think canning is for me. I feel I can use my time better doing something else. I think some people really enjoy all the cutting, coring, preparing, processing, but it was stressful for me maybe because I was worried I might mess up. It could be possible that I will change my mind after we enjoy the things I have canned but right now I it is still a pending matter for me!

So far.......

The school year just began but so far I am really enjoying my time with Jacob alone. I bought him this shopping cart (the best investment ever) because he has a fetish with all shopping carts. He especially loves the little carts at Smiths. We go there a lot even when it is not necessary. We even borrowed a cart from there once but of course we took it back. Buying him the this cart has been the best. He takes it everywhere, to get pizza, all stores, to pick apples, etc. The boy loves to shop and now it will be even funner for him to go with me!

I really love this little boy because he is at the age where he says funny things that just make us laugh. When we pulled into Smith's yesterday he said "where are we mom?" When I said Smith's he said, "GREAT!" When I ask him if we wants to go somewhere with me he says "with the little cart?" yes of course Jacob, you can bring your little cart!

Today we are going to Checker Auto parts, Jack's tire and oil and vehicle registration and the cart will be going there too!
