Designer Jeans

I am making a confession here. I have always loved designer jeans. I admit that they aren't better than the average everyday jeans you can buy at Old Navy. They still wear out, get holes in the knees and fade with washing but I still like them anyway. In high school I wore Guess and Giboud (I think that is how they are spelled). Now I like silver, lucky, DYNY and my newest pair are MEK. I have wanted a pair for a long time but never spent the money to get some. My husband is a big factor in that. He doesn't see why I would spend so much on one pair of jeans. He always says, "Just imagine how many other pairs of jeans you could buy with the money instead of buying these ones." For my birthday I used all the money I got and bought me a pair. I love how they feel and will be happy for quite awhile. I have a smile on my face right now!

The final days of spring break

If you are reading this right now and you haven't read my other post about spring break you should read those first before reading this one. This is the end of the spring break posts and it will make more sense if you read from bottom to top.

Friday- day 5
We went to see the movie Monsters VS Aliens with the whole family plus two of Trevor's friends (8 total). I hope no one thought all those kids were mine. The movie was good and I think the kids really enjoyed it.

When we got home we did some much needed de-junking. I never clean the kids' bedrooms because that is their job. The bad thing is that they hang on to stuff and garbage starts to pile up because they don't throw it away. We finished Trevor's and Abbey's rooms tonight and boy that felt good. (We did Kyra's the other day). This project was one of those not so fun but most get done projects and now I feel the whole house is semi-clean.

Saturday- day 6
Since Bobby had to work on Sunday we called the easter bunny and asked him to come early. This year he hid all of the kids' baskets except for Jacobs. They had a really hard time finding them. The easter bunny also brought Bobby some candy and he brought me a new bad and flip-flops. Sweet! I love the easter bunny.

This morining we also colored easter eggs. Trevor's friend Britton joined us because he slept over. I think they had a good time doing it. Abbey wanted to keep all of her eggs in her bedroom for safe keeping but I thought that was a really bad idea.

In the afternoon we went to the downtown alliance. It was like trick-or-treating but in spring. The kids loved running from store to store but realistically they didn't get very much candy, but I don't think they cared. We did that with the Barlows.

When we got home we hid easter eggs and the kids had an easter egg hunt. I have a sneaking suspision that we didn't find all the eggs. I guess we will find them when we are doing yard work or something. After that we played games with the Barlows, just he usual. We play games with them once a week.

In this picture everyone is checking out their stash

Sunday- day 7

Today was a really bad day. Several bad things happened today. First we were late for church because I just couldn't get my act together fast enough. I hate Morinings, and I haven't had to get up early this whole week. So, we were late. When we got to church the whole chapel was full with family for baby blessings so we had to sit in the foyer. I thought it was going to be a disaster but it was ok. I went into primary for a second to make an announcement and you should have seen Kyra. I put this bow in her hair attached to a stretchy headband and it was now placed in the wrong spot. Instead of being in back of her ears holding her hair back, it was now in front of her ears under her chin. AND, she had her dress tucked into her tights in the back. Who's child is this? Someone please help me!! Then the worst part of the day came right after church. I was gathering my stuff in the RS room and here comes Abbey in with this awful look on her face. She has liquid (throw-up) all over her face and dress. I say, "Abbey did you spill your water?" and of course she says no, she has just thrown up. Great! So as I am rushing her off to the bathroom, President Leishman is looking for me. He has a check for me from the stake and of course it came back to them because no one in the ward or stake can get our address right even though I have told them a hundred times to fix it. I grab the check and run into the bathroom. There are a few sisters cleaning off Zoe Toledo's dress in the back. Apparently Abbey threw up on her. Abbey was standing in the bathroom stall scared and waiting for me. That broke my heart that no one was helping her. Anyway, I made her come out and I cleaned her up. The best thing to do was just go home so she could change. Everyone was making a huge deal about the whole thing because there was a big area of throw-up. That made me very angry because no one seemed to care about Abbey, who cares about the floor. By the way, I feel really bad but I didn't stay to clean it up. I was all alone with the kids and we just left. Abbey was very distraught that she threw up on Zoe and feels really bad about it. She just layed on the couch for the rest of the night and she didn't go to school today. She got an extra day for spring break but she hasn't moved off the couch once so that is not very fun for her. The best part of the day was the yummy dinner we had with the Barlows. Sometimes good food will make you feel better. I was very happy to go to bed and wake up today and have a new day.

We had a very fun spring break and I think now the kids and I are really looking forward to summer. I love it when my kids are out and it will be here soon!

The next two days of spring break

Day 3

The first two days of spring break were awesome because the weather was so warm. This is day three and it is very ugly outside. Therefore I had to be a little more creative because we couldn't go out. Whenever it is raining outside I think of a saying from the Dennis the Menace movie. Dennis says to Mr. Wilson, "well there sure isn't a lot to do when it's raining outside". That is how I feel when it rains, especially when it should be nice!

To kill time I went and bought a movie the kids have been wanting to see and we had popcorn and soda. Unfortunately we didn't like the movie because it ended very sad but we got cheered up by watching American Idol. My kids love that show as much as me.

Here is a bad picture of all the kids eating and watching the movie

Day 4

Same bad, wet, cold weather! Today I went and bought another guitar for our guitar hero game. It is really sweet! I can't wait to dual with Bobby (he was at work so he missed out). Trevor of course kicked all of our butts and Abbey of course went to her room crying because he always wins. I have never seen her cry so much over anything. I think it is because she is naturally good at most things like school and it frustrates her when she has to make extra effort. I personally think it is good for her. It teaches her patience. Jacob even liked the new guitar. He put it on and played one whole song with me. He got no points obviously but he kept saying how good he was doing and I just agreed with him. Anything to keep him happy right? I am hoping and praying for nice weather tommorrow and the rest of the weekend. Here's hoping!

The first two days of spring break

This year for spring break since we weren't going anywhere cool, I decided we should do something fun everyday. Today was the first day and we went to the park on cliffside. It is a very nice park and the kids had a lot of fun. They of course did not want to go home so we had to bribe them with slurpees (it works everytime)! We will definitely have to go to that park again. At the bottom of this post there is a video of Abbey. When we were at the park all the kids were running down this big hill. You will see in the video that Trevor was the first to come down, then Kyra, then Jakie and me and then finally Abbey. Boy did she fall hard or what. We are seriously going to send that one in to America's Funniest Home Videos. We all had a good laugh (even her-after it stopped hurting)!

Day 2

Tuesday, day two we rode our bikes to Mt. Logan Middle School and made sand castles. They have volleyball nets there in a big sand box. We took all the needed equipment like bowls, spoons, water, empty flower pot to make something cool. Above are some of our creations. First we made this awesome sand castle. Then, we buried all the kids, except Jacob who doesn't like to get dirty. After a couple of hours we rode our bikes to Mcdonalds (my kids' favorite place to eat) and had dinner. I think the kids had a lot of fun playing in the sand. I don't think they will have fun trying to get all the sand out of their hair! Jacob's favorite thing to do was to throw the sand on everyone!
