A random post

Janice took this picture of us before getting on the Terror-ride at Lagoon. Believe it or not I actually still like this guy!!

Lagoon June 26th, 2010

Our annual trip to Lagoon. This is everyone standing in line at the log ride. Right when we got to the park we went to Rattlesnake rapids and it was awesome because there was no line.
All 8 goofy kids!!

Jakie loved the train-- it was definitely his most favorite ride!!

Abbey, Kyra and Katie

Me, Jakie and Bobby

We had a lot of fun playing at Lagoon. No one won any awards for our safety posters and that was a bummer but they still all got a Wal-mart gift card. Bobby got one too this year for entering a safety slogan contest. Also, Bobby won a $100 cash which was good- so basically we went to Lagoon and Lagoona beach this year for free!! Yippee!

Lagoona Beach June 27th, 2010

We love going to one day of just Lagoona beach. This year the Barlow's came with us. That made it even funner for my kids. We hardly even saw them the whole day, they were so busy playing.
Here is a funny picture of Jakie. We were standing at the bottom of a slide waiting for Janice and Bobby to come down and we all got slashed. Jakie was eating a bag of chips but it didn't bother him at all. He even had water in his little bag but he just kept on eating them!!
Katie and Jakie had a really good time playing in the tubes, I think they just forgot to add water!!

Grandma (and Rachael in the background). The first time we went on this slide my mom hated it. If you don't put you elbows and feet in you get all banged up which is what happened. We tried it again with no injuries and she loved it. We went down the same slide probably 15-20 times in a row. The test was to see if you could make it down the whole slide without falling off your tube.
Bobby liked this slide too!

Camping trip #2/ famiy hair cuts

Going to Bobby's parents property is a 4th of July tradition and we always ride the jeeps. This year the black jeeps were broken so we drove around in this red on. I guess the goggles help keep out the dirt and bugs? Whatever the purpose, it made a funny picture.

The boys way outnumber the girls on the Waechtler side, so I decided to do something fun with just the girls. It was Abbey, Kyra, Sasha and her cousin Colleen. We tied torn material onto these flip-flops.
here they are all done!!
Bobby desparately needed a hair cut so we brought the clippers to give him and anyone else one too. Here is the before shot.
Here is the "during" shot.
Peter was getting very impatient watching me be so careful on his hair so he told me to move over and he took my spot. He has sheared a few sheep in his time and was not gentle at all!!
We gave Bobby a mo-hawk but it was so long it was a comb-over. We thought this would look more appropriate for church than a mo-hawk!!
Here is the after picture-- isn't he cute? He looked like and indian!! :) He cut it all off when we got home and now it's just all shaved.
Trevor got a mo-hawk too it actually looks really good on him.

Fireworks- Thursday July 2nd 2010

We went to the USU soccer field to watch the stadium fireworks this year. We went with Emily Doxey and kids and Liz Turner. Emily provided these fun glow sticks for all the kids to play with.

Beautiful Flowers

When we went camping at Bobby's parents property for 4th of July these beautiful flowers were everywhere. Everything was brown and dry but these yellow flowers really stood out. Unfortunately my nose didn't like the flowers and I used a whole box of kleenexs while we were there.

Campin trip #1

We went to Porcupine dam to camp (actually it was not at the dam, but just before it). We really roughed it too! No bathrooms, no picnic tables and no fire pit. That's really roughing it to me. We had a fun time and it was nice to get away and just do nothing for a weekend!!
I bought the bigggg marshmallows to see how they would be for camping. The bag had half strawberry and half white and I only came home with white-- the kids definitely liked the strawberry.

here's Kyra enjoying her mellow
Jakie liked his marshmallows uncooked and he did not want his picture taken. Can you tell?
Yum, yum that was good!
The kids were dying to get in the water and play. Bobby was the only brave parent to join them. Thanks Bobby!
This is Saaya. She is a Japanese foreign exchange student and she went camping with us. She likes the kids and was sitting on the fence with Jakie and I thought it was a perfect photo moment. I think Saaya was surprised how many photos I take-- I even outdid her!!
Whenever we are with the Barlow's, we play games. Here the kids are playing slap jack and Saaya is really good!!
These are the Cheeto girls! Ha- ha!!
I couldn't believe Saaya actually wanted to pose like the rest of these silly kids!! Her family will think Americans are nuts!!

Summerfest 2010

The funnest part of the whole day for me was buying these zipper flowers. Aren't they cute. I must find a way to make more!! :)
We try to go to Summerfest every year. My kids LOVE and honestly so do I. We came on opening day this year because we going camping this weekend and will miss it otherwise. This is the balloon lady and this was the kids' favorite part. She made my kids a total 7 balloons. She accepted tips only so I paid her a $3 tip. I should have paid her more.
Here is a list of everything she made us:
2 swords (Jakie broke the first one hitting things-- go figure)
1 yellow giraffe
1 green weiner dog
1 grey parrot
1 purple monkey
and 1 funky hat!!

Here is Jakie acting weird. They were all dancing and being silly while we were eating lunch. I got out my phone to video it but forgot to push play---whoops!! Before I realized it the song was over and they stopped being silly-- it must have been the music!!
The kids kept begging for a cotton candy so I gave in. I only let them buy one so they told the lady to make it really big and here it is!!
Wow, is that a big enough piece Trevor?

This is Abbey with her giraffe balloon. She also got a purple monkey.
Here is Kyra enjoying a bite of cotton candy.

Here is Trevor with his two balloon treasures. The gray thing on his shoulder is a grey parrot.

Safety Posters

Every year we make posters for the Lagoon party. Every year I say I am going to start working on them but I never do. Last year I didn't make any posters because I was at girls camp so Bobby had to do them all. This year I was much more involved!!

I made this poster for Kyra.
Here is Jakie's poster. Bobby created it and Kyra erased all the pencil marks.
Abbey Designed and colored this poster all by herself.
Here is Trevor making his poster. He procrastinated making it until the very last minute but we helped and he got it done. He also designed it all by himself.
Here is a picture of the finished product. Don't you just love Bobby's mean face? I think he missed his calling in life-- he should have been an artist!! :)
