Antelope Island- Beware LOTS of pictures

I have to admit I grew up in SLC but had never been to Antelope Island. Last year Bobby went with Trevor's class. This year Bobby signed me up to go with Abbey. It only took me 37 years but I finally got there.
It was VERY, VERY windy as you can see by the hairdos.

div>ABs was taking break from the hike, having a drink.
I'm glad Antelope Island is a State Park otherwise we would have been bringing this treasure (and many more) home with us.

div>This is salt from the lake!! I had no idea how much salt was actually in the lake. As we were driving away on the bus you could see salt banks on the side of the shore. It looked like a snow bank but I was certain it was salt. The Salt Lake had 26 % salt in some places!!
I love spending time with my children indivdually so I was happy I got to spend the time with just her!!
Here we are on the bus together. Isn't this photo cute?
Here is the group-- funny kids!!
Abbey, Bianey, Koko, Guadalupe and Katelyn
One little Bison all by himself
These are just wild flowers I saw on the way to the bathroom. They must require little to no water because they were living in sand.
This is a badger skin. I didn't realize how many animals were actually on the island.
This is the lake. I took it because of the varying colors in the sand and water.

Why do I love taking pictures of food?

I think I like taking photos of food because sometimes it looks so beautiful before you eat it!!!

Two random things I will remember about Stake Conference

1. In the car on the way to Stake Conference Jakie said to Trevor, " Don't make me have to come back there!!!" we all laughed.

2. Jakie had to go get a drink while in the tabernacle and when he got back to our seat he said really loud, " Mom, let's go get a slurpee!!!" That was so random but I was laughing and so was everyone else that heard him!!!

Bobby's birthday

This is the set of biking bibs Bobby got for his birthday. This is the decent shot. The other ones he has his shirt off and that ain't pretty!! love ya Bobby!
Here is a list of everything he got:
road bike
Handle bars
2 bike tires
bibs and biking shorts
$50 from my mom
and........

This present was homemade from Abbey. Since his birthday was on Sunday we went to Stake Conference and the Barlow's came over for dinner and we played games and ate yummy cheesecake. LOVE YOU BOBBY!!

A fun rainy day activity

It has been raining non-stop for days. We are running out of stuff to do inside so, on Saturday we made stuffed animal tags for ALLLLLLL of Abbey's and Kyra's pets. That took a long time. Thank you Mr. Cricut for your help!!
These are just Abbey's pets. Kyra lost interest in a picture by the time we got to her animals. She has only 5 or 6. Yes, even the snake has a tag!!

I'm at it again!!

Here is the blackberry cheesecake I made for Bobby's birthday. Here it is in the oven cooking--- yum yum

Blackberries were on sale half price at Fresh Market so I bought 7 containers of them and made blackberry pie filling. My favorite recipe from when I was growing up was my mom's cherry cheesecake. I don't really like cherries so blackberries are a wonderful replacement. I'd share the recipe here but I'm too lazy to type it all out!! :)

Blog Book

I got my first blog book published. I am so excited to see how it turned out. I put all of my blog posts from Oct. 2008 to now in one book and it was only $36. It should be here June 14th. I will take photos of it and post them here, of course!!

Bobby and the kids walked to the movie theater really early so we could get a good seat. Here we are all waiting in line. We were the second one's in line. The 3-D glasses were huge on the kids but they made the movie look really cool!
surprisingly Jakie kept his glasses on the whole time and no pee breaks!!! yeah
Is it illegal to take pictures of the movie? Oh well :)

Trevor is way too cool for photos but I snuck this one in!!

Sale on Spring

All finished spring sets on sale for $15unfinished set $10

Saturday was a busy day!!!

Before I went to all of Trevor's soccer stuff, I went to lunch with my friends!! Every time we get together it seems the time goes by too fast. We need to go to Bear Lake once a month!! Love you guys!!

A special day for Trevor

At the end of year party, Coach Hull saved Trevor's award for last. Trevor really had a tough year. He started off having stomach aches and ended with sore feet every game. Plus, his team didn't win any games. They played good every game but could never pull it off. They did end on a tie twice and that was semi-exciting. ANYWAY, Trevor got awarded MOST IMPROVED PLAYER on his team this year. I wish I would have video-taped it because I can't remember a thing the coach said about him but it was special! This is the coach talking to the team and presenting Trevor. He gave all the guys a team ball because they are moving up to a bigger ball. He gave Trevor a brand new size 5 ball, the kind they will use in the fall. That was exciting!!
Here are some shots of Trevor admiring his ball. He was very excited with his award but he was trying really hard to be cool and not smile!!

This is Trevor all cleaned up from the mud. He loves this ball, he even slept with it. Like I said, this was a special day for Trevor!!

Mudd wrestling anyone?

For Trevor's soccer party the coach let all the kids play in his garden spot. He watered it all day so it was nice and muddy. Here is everyone still clean.........

Abbey didn't like getting cleaned with the hose so she came home like this!!
Trevor was one of the first to get cleaned up
One side of Trevor's face was paralized, maybe it's because he had mud in his eye! He is not a mud fan, he doesn't even like to get dirty.
This is everyone dirty.......
Can you believe I let this clan in my car!!

Jakie only played in the dry dirt and that is ok with me!!

Second Canoe Trip!!

I promise I'm not going to write something everytime we go out on the canoe but this time was special like the first time. It was mother's day and that is what I wanted to do. I figured we weren't breaking the sabbath by spending money or working so it was ok. I wanted Trevor to see how stable the canoe was and how much fun it is. The weather was sooooo much warmer this time than last. Trevor didn't enjoy the ride very much due to what happened last year. I think over time he'll get used to it and like it more and more.

When we dropped off
the kids, this is what they
did to keep busy!
