Campin trip #1

We went to Porcupine dam to camp (actually it was not at the dam, but just before it). We really roughed it too! No bathrooms, no picnic tables and no fire pit. That's really roughing it to me. We had a fun time and it was nice to get away and just do nothing for a weekend!!
I bought the bigggg marshmallows to see how they would be for camping. The bag had half strawberry and half white and I only came home with white-- the kids definitely liked the strawberry.

here's Kyra enjoying her mellow
Jakie liked his marshmallows uncooked and he did not want his picture taken. Can you tell?
Yum, yum that was good!
The kids were dying to get in the water and play. Bobby was the only brave parent to join them. Thanks Bobby!
This is Saaya. She is a Japanese foreign exchange student and she went camping with us. She likes the kids and was sitting on the fence with Jakie and I thought it was a perfect photo moment. I think Saaya was surprised how many photos I take-- I even outdid her!!
Whenever we are with the Barlow's, we play games. Here the kids are playing slap jack and Saaya is really good!!
These are the Cheeto girls! Ha- ha!!
I couldn't believe Saaya actually wanted to pose like the rest of these silly kids!! Her family will think Americans are nuts!!

Summerfest 2010

The funnest part of the whole day for me was buying these zipper flowers. Aren't they cute. I must find a way to make more!! :)
We try to go to Summerfest every year. My kids LOVE and honestly so do I. We came on opening day this year because we going camping this weekend and will miss it otherwise. This is the balloon lady and this was the kids' favorite part. She made my kids a total 7 balloons. She accepted tips only so I paid her a $3 tip. I should have paid her more.
Here is a list of everything she made us:
2 swords (Jakie broke the first one hitting things-- go figure)
1 yellow giraffe
1 green weiner dog
1 grey parrot
1 purple monkey
and 1 funky hat!!

Here is Jakie acting weird. They were all dancing and being silly while we were eating lunch. I got out my phone to video it but forgot to push play---whoops!! Before I realized it the song was over and they stopped being silly-- it must have been the music!!
The kids kept begging for a cotton candy so I gave in. I only let them buy one so they told the lady to make it really big and here it is!!
Wow, is that a big enough piece Trevor?

This is Abbey with her giraffe balloon. She also got a purple monkey.
Here is Kyra enjoying a bite of cotton candy.

Here is Trevor with his two balloon treasures. The gray thing on his shoulder is a grey parrot.

Safety Posters

Every year we make posters for the Lagoon party. Every year I say I am going to start working on them but I never do. Last year I didn't make any posters because I was at girls camp so Bobby had to do them all. This year I was much more involved!!

I made this poster for Kyra.
Here is Jakie's poster. Bobby created it and Kyra erased all the pencil marks.
Abbey Designed and colored this poster all by herself.
Here is Trevor making his poster. He procrastinated making it until the very last minute but we helped and he got it done. He also designed it all by himself.
Here is a picture of the finished product. Don't you just love Bobby's mean face? I think he missed his calling in life-- he should have been an artist!! :)

The White Skirt

Janice and I decided to make a white patch work skirt. We went and picked out all the fabric and she cut the squares out with her Big Shot diecut machine. Here is all the squares laid out ready to sew. I sewed all the pieces together and it was actually quite fun. I don't really know how to sew very good but this was just sewing a straight line so I managed.
This a picture to prove that I really did sew it and not Janice.

Lagoon Chain

Abbey is such a funny girl. Last year she made a map and outline of all the rides she wanted to go on at Lagoon. This year her plan was different. She counted how many days were left until we went to Lagoon and then made a chain for each day. She put her favorite rides on each slip of paper and the fun began. Everyday she takes a slip off and we get closer and closer!!

The real fun!!

Since Trevor's birthday was on Sunday we had his party on Monday June 14th. Here is a list of who came: Kennion, Jonah, Jimmy, Britton, Carson, Collin and Clay. In this photo Trevor was opening all of his gifts.

Here is the biggest kid of all! He hit his billionth home run and was coasting into home!!

Here is the whole crew!!We got pizza for lunch which is always a hit with growing boys!
Collin, Jimmy and Jonah's two cousins.
Trevor and Clay eating pizza!!

Sunday Birthday

Trevor's Birthday was on Sunday this year. That really didn't excite him too much. He also didn't like that his daddy had to work that day too. He opened his presents before church of course!!
Here is a list of stuff he got:
A Wii game and $11 from Grandma
$5 from Oma and Opa
a laptop from mommy and daddy
a webkinz dog
4 mini squirt guns

Here are the cupcakes with blue whipped cream frosting!! yum yum!

Trevor really hates getting his picture taken so I do it as often as I can. I can't believe he is already 11! Wasn't he just born? They grow up way, way too fast!!

Kyra's Baptism June 5, 2010

Here are the photos of Kyra before we went to the Tabernacle. We prayed for no rain today and our prayers were answered. The weather was beautiful.
This was not a great picture because the car is in the background and Jakie is pulling a funny face but Kyra and daddy looked cute!
Jakie thought he needed to be in every picuture!! Funny boy!!
Here Kyra is on her special day in the Tabernacle by the font. I think she was very nervous. During this I have seen a new side of Kyra's personality. She is really quite shy when she is around new people or in a new situation. When Kyra got interviewed by the Bishop she was so nervous to do it alone. The Bishop assured her that she would be fine. He told me later that she knew every question he asked her.
Isn't she cute?
I love that they let you take pictures by the font. I think every picture you can take, makes the memories last longer.
This is one of my favorite photos of Kyra. She looked so pretty after getting baptized. She was just glowing. She looked so pure and clean. She was glowing the whole day even at the lunch we had after.
Trevor is such a ham. He DID NOT want his picture taken so this is the smile we got from him.
Grandma and Grandpa
Oma and Opa didn't stay for pictures because Oma wasn't feeling well.
Here is our cute family. I wish they would have gotten closer so you could have seen us better but oh well!

USU swimming field trip

Trevor's class got to go swimming at USU. We walked from school up Old Main hill to get there. That sure brought back memories from college. I think the kids had a really good time swimming. To go off the diving board, you had to be able to pass a swim test across the pool and Trevor passed with flying colors. Here is one of this diving board photo shoots!
